Missio theological seminary is one of the oldest Catholic theological schools in America. The seminary has been around since 1930. As a result of the long standing history of teaching and learning that the school prides itself for, students have graduated to positions of leadership within the church and community. This has led to a high number of alumni who go on to teach in Catholic parishes across the country and even throughout the world.
There are several ways to engage in the graduate program at Missio theological seminary. Students can participate in either the Master's program in Pastoral Studies or the Master's in Social Sciences and Human Development Webinar Series. A student interested in participating in the development webinar series should check with the program office for more information. The Master's program in Pastoral Studies is also offered in several levels: Master of Divinity (Mrd), Doctor of Divinity (DDS), Doctor of Laws (DLH), and Master of Arts in Human Development (MAD). The Master's degree is the most common among the levels and usually requires a minimum of four years at a university before one is certified.
The Master's program in Pastoral Studies is a two year program which enables students to specialize in one of three areas of study. The first area is the theology and pastoral administration. It covers topics like the works of Pope Benedict XVI, Saint John Paul II, and Benedict XVI's infallible teachings. The second area is the history and philosophy of faith and theology. The third area is the works of St. Thomas Aquinas.
After one has graduated from the seminary, students will have a choice between the Master's in Pastoral Studies (MST) or the Master's in Social Sciences. The latter degree has three areas of concentration: social studies, psychology, and sociology. The courses are taught by Prof. Luigi Zaccarelli. The curriculum is taught in an easy to read style so that students will not find themselves too confused.
The Dominican School of Ministry (DSM) is also present in the area of Missio theology. The DSM is an independent organization within the Dominican community but does not necessarily contradict the Dominican community's view on religion and moral issues. The aim of the DSSM is to inculcate social and political awareness into students from a conservative viewpoint. The main purpose of the DSM is to create leaders who will be able to interpret scripture in the best possible light for all religious groups and individuals regardless of their denomination.
There are also two schools of thought in Missio that present their own forms of religious education. The Catholic School of Dominicanism is a strictly Roman Catholic school, while the Holy Faith School of Ministries represents a deviation from the Roman Catholic teachings. These schools present a wide range of courses for students to choose from.

The Dominican Institute of Biblical Studies offers two major degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. The programs cater to a variety of career goals. It also has an affiliate for the Dominican Association of Colleges and Schools. The College offers programs for men, women, and teenagers.
